These are the areas where my professional support shines. I'm open to a variety of topics, so please be curious if you want help that you don't see specifically mentioned here! If it's not in my wheelhouse, I'm glad to connect you with other potential professionals.

1. Help me make a budget and track my earning, spending and saving.

Some people know how to do this, but can't seem to stay on track with the logistics on their own.

Still others just haven't done it yet for a variety of reasons, and want nonjudgmental professional support to learn how to be successful in this area.

My own ethos is to separate out shame and blame from the budgeting and tracking processes. Together we can find ways to increase clarity, confidence, and peace of mind in the finance realm.

2. Help us as a couple / family / household communicate better about money.

I find it fascinating that the roles in relationships are technically unlimited, yet limitations develop so easily between humans who are sharing resources. Whether it's social conditioning, family patterns, fears, or perceived pressures, there is generally a lot to unpack in relationships when it comes to financial decisions and roles.

3. Help me achieve holistic financial maturity.

Wherever we are on the spectrum of financial maturity, there is always room to grow and deepen. This track brings in an emphasis on clarity around one's personal values, and how they are expressed through earning, spending, and saving. This is growth coaching with finances as the focal point.

4. HANDLE ESTATE ISSUES FOR ME AND/OR LOVED ONE(S).

Fall of 2024 I began the pre-certification training to become a Professional Fiduciary. I am passionate about elder care, and also clear communication in families. At this point in my training I can help with getting estate to-do's organized and checked off the list, as well as exploring values and priorities that you'd like to have reflected financially.

5. Teach me how to do my own bookkeeping

I love sitting with people by Zoom and getting granular with how to use financial tracking software. There are no "dumb" questions when we are learning this skill. I enjoy accommodating different learning styles...we can get creative together about what will help you remember how to do your books. It feels great to develop a checklist for you...weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually, so you can build your financial confidence and also understand your numbers to your satisfaction.

I began my career in fundraising for the UNC Chapel Hill Medical School, then moved to San Francisco in 1999. From there I worked in domestic violence prevention in the workplace (Family Violence Prevention Fund); career management education (Alumnae Resources); and then was the administrative manager for the UCSF Medical Center Neurology Outpatient Practice.

I stepped off the traditional career track at that point to study Somatic Psychology at the California Institute of Integral Studies. That led to living and working for a few years in an intensive spiritual community. A profound retreat experience in many ways, part of that study included relationship dynamics and best practices in communication and connection.

I was lucky to be gifted with mentorship by someone who was trained in the Dave Ramsey financial counseling model, and he kindly helped me get a grasp on the money thing. It was some of the hardest work I have ever done. First for my own finances, and then later in an apprenticeship arrangement seeing his clients together.

Over time, I trained in small business administration, the Profit First Professional Fractional CFO method, mediation, and addiction and codependency recoveries. (Along with re-engaging with deep passions for tennis and partner dancing.)

Since 2010 I have worked with a wide variety of individuals, couples, and business partners. All ages, races, cultures, and ways of identifying are welcome in my practice.

I have experience with a variety of financial tracking software, tax prep, and financial project management.

I personally use YNAB (You Need A Budget) for my personal and business bookkeeping.

“I am thrilled to offer a testimonial regarding my long-term partnership with Beth in her role as Financial Guide! A few key phrases and words I’d use to describe Beth would be whip smart, a creative thinker, quick problem solver, with a high level of commitment. She’s an agile, thoughtful, down to earth person, who is a constant learner and she is delighted to share what she has learned over her years of experience in a non-judgemental way. I trust her guidance and counsel. She’s highly intuitive and will meet you where you are in relation to your financial interest or savvy. I would recommend Beth and her work to an individual struggling with their finances and a profitable business owner alike without hesitation.”

“I met Beth a few years ago when I first purchased a business and I had never been a business owner before. She helped me to wrap my head around business finances, how to determine my budget, flushed out what was important to me to prioritize and pointed out that I am my most important employee! Then a year later I participated in one of her group sessions and I got a lot out of that as well. She has many ways of helping people with their finances to meet people where they are in their process. Last year she sent out one of her regular newsletters and she issued a challenge to set a goal for the year. I took that seriously and followed through on my goal of setting a specific budget and working my budget. That helped me immensely to go from an unprofitable year to a profitable one. Beth has made my life better!”

“I can't recommend Beth enough if you're trying to balance a home budget or if you need bookkeeping help for your small business. Last year Beth helped me work out a plan to manage my unpredictable small business income which comes in waves. She checked in with me by email to see how our plan worked and we met again to adjust the system after I tried it out for a few months. It was just what I needed to build some structure into how I divided every paycheck. I am happy to say that it has saved me so much time and stress utilizing her expertise. On top of all that, she is one of the most genuinely nice people you could work with. ”

“Beth is AMAZING! She has helped fundamentally change my financial life. She is organized, grounded and incredibly kind. I feel so comfortable talking to her about my finances. I've sent a few friends to her now. She rocks!”

“Wow, what to say about this amazing woman and professional. Well I'll start with trustworthy. I am a recently retired Law Enforcement Agent and I trust Beth completely with all my finances, 100 percent. This is absolutely critical if you are going to use and really maximize a service like Beth's. So now I can add in the rest, super smart, authentic, highly skilled and competent, very patient, and just a lovely person with whom to work. Beth is a shining beacon of professionalism and trustworthiness to which we should all strive. Just amazing, you will be very glad you gave her your business.”
